More walking! and lots of plants

The weather has been glorious in Wales for the past few days and I have been doing as much as possible to take advantage of it.

I ABSOLUTELY love gardening, I have lovely borders in my garden.. unfortunately I rent my house and I don't want to spend lots of money planting up the borders to then move again so I make do with a lot of pots.

I have been hunting down a small willow tree I saw in a shop last summer for a while now and the other day I happened to pull up at Asda and they were selling them! Now I have them noted down as being 'Salix - Hakuro Nishiki' but apparently it's also known as 'Salix - Flamingo' I think you can see why! Anyway I am super happy about finally finding it again.

(this photo was taken before I potted it, obviously.....)

These are my tomatoes that I have grown from seed. I have a few things this year that are really blooming that I have grown from seed including Lavender, Sweet Williams and radishes. I have about 20 tomato plants! However I am selling a lot of the others off for charity.

I'm currently on annual leave and loving it. I have been out cycling on my new bike most days and last week I went to visit my friend in Neath. Neath is right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and right next to Waterfall Country. We went out to Pontneddfechan and took a walk up to some of the falls. I fell in love, it was beautiful and peaceful. Sadly like most places there was litter being left and I am one of those weirdos that picks it up when she sees it. So mostly I came home with rubbish that other people had left behind.

The wildlife and plantlife was amazing. Look at these curly ferns!

I'm home now for a few days and am going to enjoy relaxing on the farm, spending time with my dogs and reading in the garden if the weather holds up. Look at my mum's amazing lilac plant. The colour is so vibrant.

Walking, walking, walking and hello

First post. Welcome to my new blog.

It's going to be my space for sharing updates and ideas on my crafting, gardening, keeping fit and general life that doesn't revolve around work. My working life is fairly stressful and at times plain upsetting so this will be my encouragement to distract and forget about work when i am not there! I hope you enjoy it!

Llantwit Major to Nash Point.

Yesterday was a rare occasion, a Bank Holiday and I was off work! I spent it by.... going into to work. I only did a few hours overtime and then had the rest of the day off. My boyfriend and I decided a while ago that we don't get out and about enough so yesterday we decided to go for a walk. One of my favourite things about Cardiff is you're just not that far from the countryside. We went down to Llantwit Major beach where we marched off on the 3 mile trek to Nash Point Lighthouse. I loved it, and I loved the fact you went from pebble beaches, to steep cliff top walks, through woods and past fields of crops.

The lighthouse was in the next bay after the clifftop you can see in the far distance.

Possibly my new dream house.

We made it!

The lighthouse also had a fog horn. It's no longer used for it's purpose but is sounded twice a day for tourists. It was going just as we were approaching the light house. It's definitely loud..

My 'Happy to be in the Countryside' face.

I've already made a list of all the other places nearby I want to go walking this summer. So this may just be a summer of photos of the countryside. I have lots of Crochet things to post too so be prepared
